Movie for International Championship

This video has been produced to ensure that competitors and referees worldwide are fully acquainted with the correct forms of the representative Kata, “Chatanyara-Kusan-ku” and "Papuren," which are frequently performed at the 11th Shito-Ryu Karate-Do International Championship, to be held in Japan in 2026. For this upcoming championship, judging will be strictly based on the authentic and correct Kata as defined by the Shito-Kai. We will be strictly evaluating based on these original forms, rather than the altered versions containing excessive theatrical elements that deviate from the foundational theory of techniques such as Bunkai (application), a trend that has been frequently observed in recent tournaments. Further details, including in-depth explanations of the finer technical points, will be provided during the pre-championship seminar.
